As we enter September and Labor Day weekend, let us all re-charge our church batteries with a focus on the importance of the Gospel. This weekend, Jesus is with His disciples in the region of Tyre and Sidon where a Samaritan woman begs Jesus to heal her daughter. Jesus explains that He was sent to the people of Israel, explaining to her that “Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” She responds by saying, “Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” It is an amazingly powerful moment in the ministry of Jesus, who then turns around and heals her daughter.
This weekend, our focus is going to be on how we, as children of God, are to see and live the Gospel.
