Beginning Our Week in the Lord
Monday’s Verse:
From Proverbs 16:3 ESV
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
This week comes to us filled with tasks, decisions, and worries. We plan diligently, but we can’t determine every result. First of all, Proverbs tells us to commit our work to the Lord. Not just our spiritual endeavors—no, but every task, conversation, and responsibility.
Committing our work to God means entrusting it to Him by faith. We lay our plans before Him, asking Him to refine our motives and use our efforts for our neighbor’s benefit and His name’s glory. We trust not in our ability to structure the week well, but in Christ, who secured our spot with God on His cross and through His resurrection.
Bring your plans this week to the Lord. Work with diligence, pray with desperation, and trust Him to make firm what He determines is for His good and gracious purpose.
✝️ A Prayer for Today:
Lord Jesus, I commit this week, and all that work awaits me, to You. Guide my plans. Keep my heart. Give me faith to trust Your wisdom when I can’t see my way forward. Use me to love my neighbors and to bring You glory in all that I do. Amen.
Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
