Faith That Trusts in God
Friday’s Verse:
From Hebrews 11:6 ESV
“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
I think faith can sometimes feel complicated. I think of faith as never having any doubts or having complete certainty. Hebrews 11:6 teaches us something else.
That God exists and we trust who He is and what He will do.
We as Christians have faith in a Savior. He has died and was raised for us. On the cross, He showed us that He loves us sinners and that through His resurrection He conquered death.
He is also rewarding those who seek Him. We do not seek God to receive rewards from Him. But when we seek God, we receive him. God will give us forgiveness, His presence, and life that will never end.
We will all have times when our faith seems large and others when it seems small. But our hope isn't based on our faith. It's based on who we have faith in.
We may not understand what God is doing. We may not know what the next day holds. But we know who has the next day.
✝️ A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, strengthen our faith when we are weak and reassure us when we are troubled. Help us to draw near to You, trusting not in our own strength but in Your promises. Amen.
Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
