Everyday Life is Your Ministry

Saturday’s Verse:

From Luke 16:10 NIV

(Jesus said) “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

I’ve always loved this Bible verse. All of us have been entrusted with small and big things, with little and sometimes with a lot. We dream about big goals. We wait for huge miracles. Sometimes we wait until we see the massive answers to prayer before we act.

But sometimes, God is working on the “small stuff.” The silent prayer in our hearts. The random act of kindness. That small step of obedience.

We’re usually too busy to see God in the “little” things.

God shows up in little ways all the time. The gift of opening our eyes each morning. Different shades of green on different trees. Peace in the middle of a crazy day.

Small things.

Offer someone a cup of cold water in Jesus’ name and you will be rewarded by God for doing so.

Your everyday job is your ministry.

“Life” doesn’t just happen during extraordinary things. Your normal, everyday (cooking, working, doing laundry) life.

God shows up in big and small ways. Don’t stress that your “quiet” life or those “small” steps of faith aren’t big enough for God. He is in the details, working on your character and drawing you closer to Himself.

✝️ A Prayer for Today:

Heavenly Father, thank You so much for giving me this day. Teach me not to despise small beginnings. Open my eyes to see the small ways I can show others love and kindness. Help me to see the little miracles that You show me each day. And help me to trust that You are working on the big and small things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Luther’s Morning Prayer:

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
