The Miracle of Reconciliation
Wednesday’s Verse:
From Luke 1:37 ESV
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Over the past several months, I’ve collected “biblical memes” from X (the former Twitter). My collection is rather large right now, so I thought I would share. Over the coming days, I’ll present these memes.
When the angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her that she would become pregnant with the Son of God, the announcement must have seemed incredible. A virgin giving birth? Elizabeth, a woman well past her child-bearing years, having a baby? That was impossible! But Gabriel said these words to Mary: “For nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37)
This verse is a declaration that God is not limited by our human boundaries. When our ability, knowledge, or resources have come to an end, his power is just beginning. The God who made the heavens and the earth, who led Israel through the Red Sea, who raised Jesus from the dead is the same God working in your life today.
When we face our limitations or difficulties seem overwhelming, we are to remember that our God is able.Whether we need healing, or forgiveness, or strength to persevere, or courage to take a step of faith, we know that Christ has already done the impossible. He has reconciled sinners to a holy God upon his cross and resurrection. In Him, nothing is impossible—even our salvation.
Prayers
A Prayer for Today:
Lord God, teach us each day that nothing is too hard for You.When we encounter things in life that are beyond our grasp, raise our eyes to Your strength and Your promises. Give us a stronger faith, that we may believe in You in all things. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Luther’s Morning Prayer:
I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
